NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Rhode Island Parole Board and SOCN Unit will hold a Public Hearing to solicit the opinions and comments of interested parties, and to consider the permanent adoption of revised Parole Board and Sex Offender Community Notification Guidelines, which are used to evaluate parole applicants who are serving sentences at the Adult Correctional Institution and offenders subject to community notification, pursuant to the General Laws of RI, §13-8-14.1 and §11-37.1-1. Notice is hereby given that the Parole Board will hold this Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 4:30 PM, John O. Pastore Complex, Varley Building, Building #46, Regan Court, Cranston, Rhode Island. Statements to be made may be submitted in writing at the time of the hearing or mailed to the Chairperson, Kenneth R. Walker, prior to the hearing date.

Copies of the current RI Parole Board and SOCN Unit Guidelines are available for public inspection at the Office of the Parole Board, Varley Building, Building #46, Cranston, RI or on our web site http://www.paroleboard.ri.gov. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired are requested to notify the Parole Board Office at 401-462-0900, 72 hours in advance of the hearing.

The Rhode Island Parole Board and SOCN Unit will hold an Open Meeting for the purpose of reviewing its guidelines, utilized by the Boards in evaluating applicants for parole and/or Sex Offender Community Notification pursuant to the General Laws of Rhode Island §13-8-14.1 and §11-37.1-1. Notice is hereby given that the Parole Board will hold this meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 4:30 PM, John O. Pastore Complex, Varley Building, Regan Court, Building #46, Cranston, Rhode Island

Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Parole Board Office 401-462-0900, 72 hours in advance.
